Pumpkin Seed Chocolate Mousse! (are you worried about worms?)

Worms don't like pumpkin seeds, so we eat a lot of them

Worms are kinda gross.

...and we've got them.

Yes, we've pretty much all got worms - you and me and especially our kids.

Don't freak out yet!

There are a LOT of little organisms in a healthy gut.

And some of the ones we thought were not so good actually can do some good.

Did you know that helminths (worms) can actually be beneficial?  Yep - they help to limit inflammation.  They're actually being considered as a potential therapeutic treatment for MS , autoimmune disease and other inflammatory disorders.

Diversity really is the foundation of awesome health!

AND while a few of these interesting characters in a gut full of a rich diversity of beneficial microbes is fine, you definitely don't want a lot of them.

So we eat sprouted pumpkin seeds to keep things under control!

Because helminths (worms) don't like pumpkin seeds.

We eat them plain or salted as a snack, and grind them and put them in porridge, smoothies, whipped up with coconut milk and cocoa into a mousse, and mixed with nutritional yeast and olive oil (my six-year-old invented this and seriously, it's delicious).

Just to be clear, adding pumpkin seeds will not magically resolve parasitic infections.

If your child's gut is weakened by antibiotics, stress, other illnesses, etc, they are more prone to any kind of dysbiosis and pathogenic or parasitic infection.

It's very important to get the right testing, interpretation and customized protocols for your particular family.  I can help you with this.

And if you want to support your family's healthy happy guts with a great source of zinc, magnesium, protein and fats that worms squirm away from... dig into those pumpkin seeds!
