Halloween is coming.... Trick or Treat?!?

We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday, and that got me thinking about what to put in our big basket of halloween treats.

We're pretty careful about what we put in our own bodies, and are careful what we feed other kids, too!  AND we of course want all the trick-or-treaters to be delighted with their treats!

There are definitely some awesome low/no sugar treat options that aren't too frightening (with spooky chemical ingredients) - like Xylitol lollies, Smartsweets gummy bears & swedish fish, and Lily's peanut butter cups (peanuts!)... but they can get expensive, and everyone's getting a ton of candy anyway.

So over the past couple of years, we've been handing out little toys!   (Yes, I'm trading sugar for plastic trash.)

Kids actually LOVE this... even in the rain, we get an average of 200 trick or treaters, so you can trust my data!  Consider these favorites:

  • dracula teeth

  • bird and dinosaur gliders

  • mini skateboards

  • colorful harmonicas and kazoos

  • little yo-yos

  • spider rings

  • bird whistles

  • mini skeletons

  • even a few sets of drumsticks!

Here are a few toys from last year:

You've got plenty of time to put together a super fun basket of treats... that doesn't involve tons of sugar, spooky ingredients, or the scary candy aftermath of November 1rst.  (I'll be sharing my favorite supplements to make November 1rst a little easier, so look out for my email this week.)

What will you give out to the trick or treaters this year???

Let me know!  Send pictures so I can share!

Love,

Elissa
