How to have Radiant skin & Healthy Gut
3 things about my skin routine (gut first, of course!):
1. I'm a minimalist with my skin routine. The only thing I do is Gut to Glow!
2. There's a skin-gut connection?
YES!
Our skin needs nutrition to stay healthy.
Our gut is the gate-keeper of nutrition.
We must have a healthy gut, full of specific beneficial microbes & nutrients to nourish our skin.
Skin also has a microbiome.
Dysbiosis (too many "bad" microbes) in the gut, creates dysbiosis of the skin.
Without enough of the "good" microbes on our skin, the "bad" microbes can flourish, making it vulnerable to break-down, rashes & infection.
These "bad" microbes flourish after antibiotics, and can thrive in toxins from the external environment, and even toxins from inside your body... your skin is a major detox organ!
If you have gut dysbiosis, you could end up with a lot of skin damage.
So to rejuvenate your skin, you need special nutrients & microbes in your gut.
Gut to Glow is full of the near-magical Lactobacillus reuteri bacteria - which humans are supposed to have a lot of but usually don't. It helps heal gut infections, boost mood (don't be surprised if you're singing and smiling more), and yes - with the support of a few more brilliant natural ingredients - visibly nourish the skin.
3. How do I wash my face?
Water and a 75-cent scrubby.
Really... I take care of my gut and wash my skin with water.
No soaps - I want to keep my good protective microbes, not wash them away!
No lotions (occasionally some olive or coconut oil) - left alone, my skin usually produces just the right amount of oil on it's own.
And I love how uncluttered my bathroom cabinets are :)
